Vernier spectroscopy is a frequency comb-based technique employing optical cavities for filtering of the comb and enhancement interaction length with sample. Depending on ratio cavity free spectral range repetition rate, transmits either widely spaced individual lines (comb-resolved spectroscopy) or groups lines, called orders (continuous-filtering spectroscopy, CF-VS). The enables use low-resolution spectrometers to resolve orders. has been implemented using various near- mid-infrared sources applications ranging from trace gas detection precision spectroscopy.
